Fostering Global Community in the Heart of D.C.

International Youth Peace Forum | August 12-16, 2019

The opportunity to create a global learning community for exceptional young peace builders was the highlight of our summer!

The inaguaral International Youth Peace Forum brought together 17 univeristy students from 9 countries to reflect on issues of global peace in a series of lectures, panel discussions and professional development workshops. Students from Ireland, China, Israel, South Africa, Germany, France, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States spent the week discussing the conflicts they aim to address in their home countries as well as the the importance of building bridges that connect people across communities and cultures.

As the world becomes increasingly interconnected, educational and cultural exchanges between communities remains a crucial part of building a more peaceful and harmonius world. Through the IYPF the CIUS Center is advancing its mission to stregthen people-to-people exchanges and global education opportunties. We are proud to have supported this inspiring group of students and the diversity of thier unique voices and viewpoints.
