DESCRIPTION:  \nCelebrate the Chinese New Year\, a time of family reunions\, with a discussion of the film\, The Farewell by Lulu Wang\, which portrays the joys and challenges of reuniting with your familial roots. \n“In this funny\, heartfelt film\, Bili’s (Awkwafina) family returns to China under the guise of a fake wedding to stealthily say goodbye to their beloved matriarch- the only person who doesn’t know she only has a few weeks to live” \nOne week before we meet online\, participants will be given a viewing resource with discussion questions and language learning components. Participants will screen the movie on their own\, using the resource as a guide. \nThe virtual discussion will include language practice and answering questions.
