Brush Strokes of Modern China- curated in partnership with the US-China Policy Foundation. The exhibit provides a glimpse into contemporary China through the artwork of authors, politicians, military generals, and notable historical figures. The pieces represent various time periods including the late Qing dynasty, the fall of Imperial China, the start of the Republic of China, the Sino-Japanese War, the rise of the Communist Party, and the the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Despite the numerous changes that occurred throughout these time periods, this exhibit demonstrates that certain Chinese customs and cultural traditions have remained the same.
