For the CIUS Center\, this is an exciting opportunity to welcome members of the CIUS Center community from near and far for an evening of food\, fun\, music\, art and great conversation. This celebration will also kick-off our2019 Confucius Institute National Honors Gala Weekend! \nWith Confucius Institute colleagues from across the United States as well as our 2019 People-to-People Award honorees joining in the festivities\, we look forward to sharing more about the Confucius Institute network with our community of Chinese cultural enthusiasts and global education advocates here in the Washington\, DC area. \nWe are also excited to showcase our newest gallery exhibit – Brush Strokes of Modern China – curated in partnership with the US-China Policy Foundation. The exhibit provides a glimpse into contemporary China through the artwork of authors\, politicians\, military generals\, and notable historical figures. The pieces represent various time periods including the late Qing dynasty\, the fall of Imperial China\, the start of the Republic of China\, the Sino-Japanese War\, the rise of the Communist Party\, and the the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Despite the numerous changes that occurred throughout these time periods\, this exhibit demonstrates that certain Chinese customs and cultural traditions have remained the same. \n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n Twitter\n \n \n \n Facebook\n \n \n \n LinkedIn\n \n \n \n Like URL:https://www.ciuscenter.org/event/2019-mid-autumn-festival-community-celebration/ LOCATION:Confucius Institute U.S. Center\, 1776 Massachusetts Ave. NW Suite 400\, Washington\, DC\, 20036\, United States CATEGORIES:Special Events END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
