Beyond the Wall: Film Screening

On November 9, 2017 at 6:30 pm the Confucius Institute U.S. Center will host a discussion and film screening of the independent documentary film Beyond the Wall. The film tells the story of four DCPS high school students who were selected for a six-week Chinese language and culture program in Beijing in summer 2009. This opportunity was offered at no cost to the students through a partnership with Americans Promoting Study Abroad (APSA), with partial funding from the US State Department. We are proud to showcase a collection of calligraphy works by Ye Huazhou, a contemporary master calligrapher who has won numerous national prizes and awards for his work. In Chinese Philosophy Through Calligraphy, his work exemplifies many different styles of work taken from centuries of artistic practice, which allows the richness of this artform to shine.   We are proud to receive the Chinese Premier Dulcimer Delegation on February 2nd at the National Press Club.
