Pu Ru (1896-1963) was a member of the Qing royal family at the time Imperial China was overthrown. Pu Ru adjusted to his change in circumstances by retreating to a monastery in the West Mountains and mastering Chinese traditional painting, calligraphy, and scholarship. He is considered one of the last of the true Chinese literati and artist scholars. Pu Ru is one of the most renowned and accomplished 20th century Chinese artists. The collector is proud to present the first solo exhibition of Pu Ru’s work in the U.S. The exhibit displays a wide range of pieces, highlighting the versatility and skill of the artist, and offers a strong look at Chinese traditional art.
